The 51st Infrastructure Transparency Initiative (CoST) International Board Meeting convened in Sekondi-Takoradi, Ghana, under the theme “Enhancing Infrastructure Transparency through the CoST Approach – Achievements and Lessons from Sekondi-Takoradi and across the Globe,” bringing together global CoST stakeholders to review progress, share experiences, and strengthen civic engagement in transparent infrastructure delivery. The event served as a platform for Ghana—particularly the Sekondi-Takoradi Metropolitan Assembly (STMA), the first sub-national member of CoST—to showcase its sub-national CoST implementation, highlight positive impacts on infrastructure governance, and promote peer learning among member programmes. During the meeting, speakers emphasised the role of multi-stakeholder collaboration, proactive data disclosure, and enhanced citizen participation in improving transparency, accountability, and the quality of infrastructure projects; Ghana’s local experience was presented as an example of progress while also recognising ongoing challenges in sustaining momentum and financing. International representatives, including the CoST Board Chair and CoST Regional Manager for Africa, acknowledged STMA’s commitment and urged continued innovation and use of technology to advance open infrastructure practices that align with Sustainable Development Goals.
